Cute And Cosy Festive Ideas For Staying At Home

Christmas is my favourite time of the year ~ I just love everything cosy and sparkly, the Christmas tree lights twinkling, sipping on toffee nut lattes under a pink pom pom blanket and watching Christmas movies, wrapping presents and baking lots of pretty sugary treats. Normally, I love visiting the Christmas markets to see all of their beautiful stalls and to treat myself to a Bailey's hot chocolate and Nutella crepe with mini marshmallows or visiting my local garden centre to see all of the fairytale Christmas decorations and sparkly lights, but as this year is a little different and we are unable to do a lot of these things, I thought it would be nice to pop together a little list of cute and cosy festive things that you can enjoy whilst being at home...

Make Snowmen And Snow Angels Under The Falling Snowflakes
I always get so excited when it snows and I become like a child on Christmas Eve as I just love how pretty everything looks when it is covered in an enchanting blanket of white snow. We've been lucky enough to have a couple of snowy days already this December and I've loved being able to build a cute snowman, make some snow angels and just enjoy a hot chocolate with melted marshmallows in a pretty mug whilst bundled up in my pink pearl gloves. There is something so magical and relaxing about watching the falling snowflakes out of the window whilst cosied up inside!

Treat Yourself To Some Cosy New Winter Accessories
I absolutely love cute winter clothing and I really enjoy bundling up in lots of pretty and cosy knitted sweaters, fluffy pom pom hats, pearl mittens and snuggly scarves to keep warm whilst the weather outside is chilly. It's always nice to treat yourself to a new little item for the winter season and whether that be some pink mittens adorned with bows or an embellished pearl scarf, there is nothing lovelier than a new little cosy winter accessory. I also love wearing gorgeous cable knit and chunky sweaters at this time of the year in pretty creams, whites and milky baby pinks and I especially love anything that is embellished with crystals, pearls or bows. I treated myself to a gorgeous pink sweater from River Island which has beautiful little crystal embellishments around the collar and I think it's so pretty and perfect for a winter fairytale!

Countdown To Christmas With An Enchanting Advent Calendar
I love treating myself to an advent calendar each year as I think it's a lovely way to count down the days in December and it just makes them feel even more special and magical. I also love getting a little sweet treat each day and it's perfect for getting snuggled up with a cup of tea or a hot chocolate and enjoying your Christmas goodies. Last year, I had a pretty pink advent calendar from Peggy Porschen which had sparkling pink champagne truffles behind each door, but this year I have the loveliest pastel sugar cookie advent calendar from Catherine Marie Cake which has the most whimsical and enchanting little designs of snowmen, candy canes, pretty mittens, snowflake stockings and fairytale Christmas trees.

Bake Iced Sugar Cookies
If you're feeling especially creative over the festive season, there is nothing nicer than making some sweet little sugar cookies in the shapes of Christmas trees, pretty baubles, wintery snowflakes and little gingerbread men. I bought some gorgeous little cookie stamp embossers from Bake Box Boutique that have enchanting winter designs on them like little mittens, snowflakes and Christmas baubles and cute phrases like 'candy cane wishes and mistletoe kisses' and 'baby it's cold outside'. You could ice them with pastel coloured icing and add little fondant decorations, sugar sprinkles and package them up into cellophane bags and tie with satin ribbons for a sweet Christmas gift. I'd also love to bake some pastel Christmas cupcakes with snowmen, pink and white candy canes, snowy houses, Christmas trees, pearl stockings and little knitted mittens complete with snowflakes.

Make A Pretty Christmas Wreath
A cute little festive activity is wreath making and it's actually something that is simple and easy to do whilst at home. If you want, you can make a traditional wreath with holly leaves and fresh winter floral blooms, but I decided to make a gorgeous artificial wreath a couple of years ago which is perfect for bringing out year after year. I purchased an artificial pine round wreath that is flocked with snow and I added some beautiful white Christmas roses, sparkling silver pine cones, frosted white winter berries, little white birds and tied on some gorgeous satin ribbon bows. I'd also love to make an enchanting girly one with pink satin ribbons, snowy swans, sweet pink and white candy canes and pretty frosted blossoms.

Go On A Snowy Woodland Walk
I also love going for a snowy woodland walk through the frosted trees and as we are predicted to have lots of snowy weather this winter, there is no better time to enjoy getting bundled up. I think everywhere just looks so much prettier when it has a dusting of icing sugar snow over the top of it and delicate little icicles hanging from the tree branches. I love wearing my pink swan pom pom hat, ruffled scarf and pink bow adorned Ugg boots and you can reward yourself with a marshmallow hot chocolate when you come in out of the cold!

Paint Your Nails With A Pretty Christmas Shade
I normally love going to get some Christmassy nails done at my local beauty salon over the festive season but as we are unsure if any of them will be allowed to open, it's also fun to do them at home yourself. I have a UV lamp which means that I can do my gel nails at home which I love and I have been enjoying painting them with lots of shades of pretty wintery baby pinks. Even though most people normally go for a traditional glittery red or a red and white candy cane stripe, I like to have a soft pink manicure with a little hint of icy white sparkly glitter and I can't wait to create these whilst cosied up in my living room.

Cosy Up With Some Festive Candles And Sparkly Wax Melts
There's something about the winter season that makes me want to light all of my candles and get as snuggly as possible so it's always lovely to treat yourself to some new festive candles. Some of my favourites are Spiced White Cocoa from Yankee Candle which is a warm and indulgent scent with swirls of cocoa topped with whipped cream and a hint of nutmeg so it makes your home smell like a creamy white hot chocolate and festive sugar cookies and I also love Snowflake Cookie which has a really sugary sweet icing scent and is a mixture of buttercream, fluffy marshmallows, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar cookies. I've also been loving some of my gorgeous wax melts from Glam Wax and I treated myself to a few of their festive fragrances including Cosy Winter Nights which is a warm and spicy scent with cinnamon, clove and festive spices, Nutcracker which is a nutty creamy fragrance with vanilla, chocolate and coffee, Snow Queen which has notes of vanilla, bubblegum and candyfloss and White Cocoa & Christmas Cookies which smells like freshly baked sugar cookies and white hot chocolate.

Wrap Your Christmas Presents With Pink Swan Gift Paper And Tie Them With Satin Bows
I really enjoy wrapping Christmas presents and I love nothing more than to get cosied up with a marshmallow hot chocolate, my Christmas tree twinkling and a cute festive movie on in the background whilst I make all of my presents look pretty. I like to stick to more of a theme with my gift wrapping and I love all of the icy whites, sparkly silvers and satin ribbons. Last year, I found some beautiful pink swan wrapping paper which looked so pretty tied up with satin ribbon bows and they looked gorgeous sitting underneath my Christmas tree.

Make Your Home A Festive Fairytale Wonderland
I get really excited to decorate my home for Christmas every year and with it being a rather rubbish year for everyone, I decided to decorate even earlier than usual and put my Christmas tree up at the end of November. I have a beautiful white flocked snowy Christmas tree which looks so wintery and whimsical and I add some white fluffy feather boas to make it look even snowier. I have lots of beautiful Christmas decorations such as unicorns, snowy gingerbread houses, little fuzzy penguins, snowflakes, love hearts and Christmas roses and I also added some gorgeous snowy swans, a sparkling white star and a large crystal bow on the top. I also have a smaller tree at the other side of my living room which I like to add all of my girly Christmas decorations to such as my rainbows and pastel unicorns, pink swans and other little pretty baubles. I have a little white artificial fireplace in my living room which I have accessorized this year with a gorgeous sparkly crystal Noel sign from The Range, an adorable white pearl Christmas pudding decoration from ND Creations and a little sparkly silver house tea light holder from Home Bargains. One of my favourite Christmas purchases is a gorgeous sparkling snowglobe light which swirls with beautiful silver glitter and looks so dreamy to watch. I also like to make a little winter wonderland scene outside my house so I have an adorable white acrylic reindeer and some sparkling snowflake lights up the side of my path to my front door.

Sip On Toffee Nut Lattes Or Creamy Hot Chocolates With Candy Canes
If you can't enjoy a delicious and indulgent hot drink on the lead up to Christmas, then when can you? At the moment, we can't go out to enjoy our festive drinks at Starbucks and Costa so it gives us even more reason to make our own versions at home. I love making a hot chocolate and adding all of the extras like fluffy whipped cream, mini marshmallows and a pink and white strawberry candy cane or you could make a toffee nut, gingerbread, cinnamon or vanilla latte with cream. I love to pop them into a cute festive mug which I just feel makes the drink taste even better! I made some adorable little Christmas mugs using some of Haute Glam Studio's gorgeous Christmas illustrations so I have a little hot chocolate mug, a snowy gingerbread house, a snowman and a sweet little gingerbread man wearing a pink scarf.

Cosy Up With A Cute Christmas Book
There's nothing nicer than getting cosied up on the sofa under a pink pom pom blanket in your cosy loungewear, popping on the fire and snuggling down with a cute festive book. I really enjoy reading and it's the perfect wintery activity to lose yourself in if the weather outside is a bit miserable. I've been loving the Cosy Christmas Chocolate Shop which is a really sweet book all about a girl who owns an adorable chocolate shop, it's so festive and fun!

Make A Pastel Sweetie Gingerbread House
Every year, I love to spend an afternoon making a little gingerbread house and it's become a little Christmas tradition for me. I never usually end up eating mine as I just think it's so cute and I like to keep it out for Christmas decor in my kitchen. I'm really looking forward to making a girly little fairytale gingerbread house with pink and white shimmery love hearts, pearls, a pink satin bow, mini marshmallows, peppermint candies, little gumdrop sweeties, sparkly gems, vanilla frosting and a pretty pastel fondant roof finished in a little garden of icing sugar snow and marshmallow snowmen.

Indulge In A Festive Sparkly Bubble Bath
The festive season is the perfect opportunity to indulge in a sparkly pink bubble bath filled with clouds of candy scented bubbles and sparkles. I always like to treat myself to a few new girly bath bombs around the start of December and I really enjoy having a little pamper session with my cosy Christmas candles on. Pop on a hair mask, enjoy a little glass of prosecco with pink shimmer and finish by slathering on your favourite sugary vanilla body lotion, a new pair of cosy pyjamas and a fluffy pair of slippers!

Cosy Up On The Sofa And Watch Hallmark Christmas Movies
My last girly suggestion is to get snuggled up on the sofa with a pink swan fluffy blanket, a hot chocolate in a festive mug, some Christmas sugar cookies, a dreamy scented candle like Snowflake Cookie lit in the background and watch some Hallmark Christmas movies. I love how festive they make you feel and it's so relaxing to take some time out of the busy season and cosy up! Some of my favourite Christmas movies are The Princess Switch, The Holiday Tree and A Family For Christmas!

I hope that you have enjoyed my girly suggestions for cosy and festive things to do whilst being at home. What are you planning to do over the festive season?

xoxo
